Gluten Craziness!

YES! These brownies are gluten free.

Two weeks ago I messed up and gave my little Sam a couple of mini cookies that were not gluten free. I take complete responsibility … I am not sure where my head was but it happened. It was Jacob who said: “Mom are those cookies gluten free?” and as I realized that they were not I tried to think fast … lets share, so really Sam had just a couple little cookies, I was hoping that it would not be a huge deal.

Well here it is two weeks, yes two full weeks later and this was the first day that I felt like Sam was back to his normal self.

I am so sorry that I messed up and will be more vigilant about Sam’s diet. I am learning. One of the questions that I had when we first went gluten free was “would it be okay, if he had a little now and then?” The answer is “NO”! After two weeks of watching him first go through the physical discomfort and then the emotional discomfort (for all of us), I am sure that gluten just is not for my little Sam.

  • I hear you! The lessons are hard. Same thing here…other people do not understand the emotional effects…it is so hard to see my kids struggling w/their anxiety, etc., after being “glutened” or exposed to any of their other main allergens. It is intense for everyone.

Amazing how sensitive he is !! That was a sure confirmation of his reactions. Have you heard of other folks who have this type of reaction to gluten ???
