We decided to get Thea as a ‘work’ dog. Great Pyrenees as known for their wonderful work as guard dogs around a farm. My children have wanted a dog for some time now and I just could not do it. I have to say, Thea has been good. She listens (most of the time) and really wants to please us. I am not sure how much of a guard dog she will be as her favorite place is sleeping on the bean bag chair but we love her, she has captured our hearts and become part of the family.

So we brought home the pizza, cooked it and Sam ate 6 pieces, yes SIX!! As he was munching on piece number four, he said “Mommy, I am so happy!” And then he asked for his milk and fell asleep on the beanbag … YES before presents, before dessert, before he could blow out his candle … the pizza was all he needed!

Anyways in the meantime I am busy unpacking and playing outside with my children. But soon there will be more than you can imagine. I have pictures of everything to share.

The morning after our first night here at the new house, I went out to see this beautiful rose. The air was filled with chirping birds and it was peaceful. I thought about my sister, Lisa, she has always been very fond of yellow roses. As I walked by the little garden with the single yellow rose in full bloom, I thought of Lisa, so many miles away but still right here in my heart.

So I snapped a picture with my phone and sent it to her. A Yellow rose for Lisa, my beautiful sister. I am so glad that there is a part of her here at our home!!

Caitlyn was recently in the show The Ballet of Robin Hood through Children’s Theater of Knoxville.

It was a wonderful performance.

I am always so very impressed what these very talented young actors do.

I had the pleasure f getting to do Caitlyn’s hair, I use to do it all the time for dance recitals and it brought back lots of great memories!!!

Well, things around Six Flower Mom’s home has been crazy … in a most wonderful kind of way. As a family we have been looking for the ‘perfect’ place to live and stopping by some very special and wonderful places along the way. But we have found maybe the perfect place. We have spent the last few weeks packing, organizing and moving. We love it and hope for it to continue to be the right place for us. But let me tell you something … moving with six children is tough. But we have done it, with the help of Grandma we have finally moved all our stuff and are getting settled. I still have lots to unpack but we are functioning (makes me wonder if we really need all the things that are still in the boxes????).

In the middle of all this moving I was interviewed by the local newspaper regarding homeschooling and today the article came out, please check it out: ‘Alternative form of homeschooling offers little structure, free-spirited learning’. I was very pleased to see a very positive homeschooling/unschooling article. Thanks you Knoxnews.com for the great article.

So does this make me famous? Probably not but I am just tickled!

I have lots to share but even more boxes to unpack and organize. I also am dealing with internet issues …. our new house does not have service for regular high speed internet, cable, DSL and the Broadband is very iffy. So my internet use has been limited (not such a bad thing)!

The girls had fun making them into shapes. They started with the traditional triangle and then Ally got creative and made some animals. Artistic cooking, what fun!

We made a bunch and had them with dinner and then the next day, they were a great snack for the little ones. Easy, healthy and yummy!

The kids have been taking them for walks on a leash. And yes indeed they are eating away all the underbrush! YEAH, this is the perfect alternative to chemicals.

Milton and Dante are brothers and have been together all their lives. They do like to play with each other. They also love people and they start making noise as soon as someone goes outside. They love to be pet and talked to. Milton is a little wild and crazier and Dante is just a mellow guy but we are really enjoying them both very much. They have quickly become one of the family!
