A Little About Me:

I am a true believer of FAMILY! I am a mother of six beautiful children ranging in ages from three to seventeen! A wife, of twenty years, to my high school sweetheart and love of my life. I truly enjoy my job as wife and mother. I also enjoy cooking, gardening and researching almost anything. As a family we have been on a personal transformation to live a life that respects our earth and hope to share our adventures with others, in hopes of keeping our world healthy for many, many generations to come.

CoSleeping!

There has been some media about co-sleeping lately … some craziness in my opinion. I am not saying that everyone has to co-sleep but I do believe that if you choose to it is just fine. Yes, there are certain precautions to be taken, especially with newborns and infants but otherwise I find it to [...]

Amazing Gift of Learning

I am continually in awe of how children learn if provided an environment that suites them. As a very unstructured homeschool family, I sometimes find it difficult to explain to people just how I ‘teach’ my children. I think I have come to the conclusion that it is really a lot less about teaching them [...]

Am I Famous Now?

Well, things around Six Flower Mom’s home has been crazy … in a most wonderful kind of way. As a family we have been looking for the ‘perfect’ place to live and stopping by some very special and wonderful places along the way. But we have found maybe the perfect place. We have spent the [...]

Growing Up:(

Today I am so excited I get to go see Caitlyn in her first play, Zink! She has been rehearsing and the show opened Friday and I have seen none of it! I feel very detached. In the past when the kids participated in something I was always there. I saw all the rehearsals and [...]

Snow Day, Everyday!

I’ve been looking around the blogsphere and reading all the wonderful stories about family time spent during school vacations and how some are praying for a snow day to keep their children home just a little longer. It really made me think of some of the wonderful reason I really enjoy homeschooling my children. Maybe [...]

A Finished Post …

Well, I would like to say that I have a finish post to put up, one of the many that I have started this week BUT nope, no way, it is not happening! Every day I have started a post, sometimes two or three BUT as you can see nothing has been posted. I am [...]

Thankful Thursday – OOOWWWEEEE!!!

So for the past two days I have been ‘fighting something’, I was not feeling badly just a little low energy and out of sorts. I had blamed it on my little Willy who for the past few days thinks three A.M. is the best time to wake and wiggle and require mommy to snuggle [...]

Why?

Conversation with my two year old … Sam: “Why?” Mommy: “Because.” Sam: “Why because?” This very simple conversations happens at least a bazillion times each day! I have to admit that most of the time it makes me smile, even the bazillionth time each day! His inquiring tone and wondering eyes … how can I [...]

A Nap!

The other day I received the following email from my uncle, saying he thought this was written for us! I thought it was so cute and it DID indeed seem as if it was written just for my family!!! An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard. I could tell from his collar and well-fed [...]
